This course provides the material and resources to help students learn how to build a geospatial project. It is more than using a GPS (Global Positioning System) unit to collect field data. Core concepts of this course include data collection techniques, project management, and working with a client.
The course is divided into Units; each unit provides an important concept in the ability of students to learn the process of building a project. Units are presented in a logical progression based on the authors experience in teaching the materials. Each unit has an overview document which summarizes the materials for that unit.
Each unit has lesson plans with an accompanying MSPowerPoint presentation. The lesson plans include a list of objectives and a list of general discussion points and activities indentified by its respective presentation slide number. The presentations include lecture key concepts, discussion questions with instructor’s notes and graphics if appropriate. Also included are learning activities with instructor instructions and student worksheets; these are also supported with presentation slides.
